Spike is Back! Pick up a Pen!

Comic legend Spike Milligan always broke conventions and made up his own rules, and he's doing it again. In a bold and unprecedented venture, the makers of a new documentary about Spike are taking their show on the road down the east coast of Australia in August and September. Led by a life-size doll of Spike, the tour includes radio broadcasts, a live show featuring Spike's eldest daughter Laura and musician Glenn Cardier who toured with Spike, and a new documentary film.

Southport Sharks - 26 August

The sound of the pokie machines are still ringing in my head, but for avid Goon fans, a great night was had by all. An old school friend of mine, Yvette Dempster was a surprise in the audience. She sent a note backstage to inform me that Sister Immaculata is still alive!!! She survived the nun exploding chair at St. Mary's Abbey School in Mill Hill, North London and all our other attempts to make her disappear.

The pick up a pen part of the evening inspired a wonderful man called Eddie Allman to start writing again. Eddie you can start by writing me a cheque!! Well that's all folks. Love, light and peace, Laura Milligan. And for all you insomniacs, have a good sleep.

    Dear Cathy and Laura,

    Thank you for a great night at the Sharks last Friday night, it brought back a lot of very happy memories. You were both lovely to me and it was great to have a physical link with the great man. I have voted for the IF Awards and naturally have give it a 5 rating.

    I will get my poems together, Cathy, and email them to you, just a couple, to get your opinion. Once again thank you for a lovely evening, I will remember it for a long time.
