The ninth series of The Goon Show ended on the BBC. Everyone knew the series had to end, but the fans kept demanding more. In the last episode, one of the characters observes ‘old Milligan’s a bit short of ideas’, and Neddie Seagoon urges his weary colleagues “keep going lad, we’re up to page thirteen”. A tenth series was commissioned but never performed.
